1.
This very newsletter and our site came in for some significant praise
from Smart Company Marketing Analyst Kathy Foley.
"Could
there be a better example of e-marketing at work? Its website offers
an e-mail newsletter ("3000 registered boozers"); there's
a comprehensive Guide to the BrewCrew service available as a PDF
download; a Freephone number front and central; a banner advertising
a catchy URL: BeerCompletesMe.com; and a Win Stuff link in the sidebar
drawing you in further."
Thanks Kathy.

2. We
were also interviewed by Irish Times Journalist Ed Power, for his
January 21st article;
'Has staying in become the new going out?'

Friday February
28th: National Pub and Club Boycott
Not
sure this will work, but good luck to the organisers if any notice
is taken. We think it might be an easier sell as National House
Party Weekend, but then we would say that.
EUR
130 will buy you a 30ltr keg (over 50 pints), including all equipment
and delivery. We are pretty sure EUR 130 will not go that far in
any town.
Sounds good
doesn't it. If you are planning a Keg Party for this Boycott weekend.
We advise you to contact us immediately. You can reply to this email
with your query.
We mainly supply
Beckett's Dublin Lager and Darcy's Stout which is brewed in Smithfield,
Dublin. The Dublin Brewing Company also brew Maeve's, Wicked Apple
organic cider, and Revolution ale. Information on our service and
the beers at http://www.brewcrew.ie/beerme.htm

The way things
are going over here we should all prepare for the end of cigarettes,
loud music, fire-lit shots, and dodgy sambos in our pubs. All far
too dangerous.

Darragh Crowley
(22), together with twin brothers Shane and Cian (29) are driving
from Melbourne to Dublin overland via Australia, Asia, and Europe.
A total of 22,000 miles through 19 countries, and with a target
of EUR 250,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
As part of the
drive, they are planning a 17 day trek up to Base Camp in Mount
Everest. Where they are hoping some people from Ireland will fly
out and join them as part of their fundraising event.
They have a
cameraman with them. So, we are hoping that some photos will make
it back, so that we can continue to plug this adventure. Anybody
who knows these guys, knows that there will be many great stories
to tell on their return.

These are some
hangover tips from Dr. Ralph's Monday morning newsletter @ http://www.hungover.net.
We invite you
to send in some alternatives.
1. THIAMINE
Also known as
Vitamin B1.
Just 3mg of
Thiamine per 375ml of beer is enough to prevent 90% of alcoholic
brain damage? And stop you getting a hangover.
Find it in beans,
rice, grains, cereals, peas & nuts.
[Thiamine is
one of the ingredients in 'all talk on the cereal box']
2. LEG MASSAGE
Ready for hangover's
best kept secret?
Run your hands
down your calf until you get to where the bottoms of the muscles
join, about half way. Now press. Somewhere in there you'll find
a lymph gland that's tender at first but delivers a world of relief
when rubbed.
Lymph glands
help process the toxins you drank. One reason you wake up with sore
calves.

Luke is a 19

Buying alcohol
may require knowledge of the '80s
COLUMBUS | The
state's newest effort to curb underage drinking is an advertising
campaign using 1980s pop-culture references.
Signs posted
at places where liquor is sold will say, for instance, ''If you
don't know who shot J.R., prepare to be carded.''
Other variations
include, ''If you've never done the moonwalk ...'' or ''If you think
a turntable is a piece of furniture ...''
Officials hope
the signs will cause minors to think twice before trying to buy
alcohol. The Ohio Department of Public Safety says one of every
four Ohio liquor stores or bars that state agents visited this year
was cited for alcohol sale to minors.
The campaign
is sponsored by the Century Council, a national not-for-profit organization
funded by distillers and based in Washington, D.C.
Jay Hibbard,
the council's regional director, said part of the challenge in curbing
underage drinking is convincing minors that trying to buy alcohol
is not worth the risk of being arrested. ''For a lot of them, they
believe they won't be the one caught,'' Hibbard said. http://www.activedayton.com
[We think this
beats the old horiscope fake I.D. question. Although, they need
to toughen up the questions. More Belinda Carlisle, Bangles, and
Bronski Beat lyrics might just do the job.]
Miramax Flips
Lid Over Beer Shot, Cues Coors
HOLLYWOOD (Variety)
- Thanks to the spreading product-placement phenomenon, one of the
co-stars in Miramax's upcoming Gwyneth Paltrow starrer "A View
From the Top" is a bottle of beer. But the brewski's original
label has figuratively ended up on the cutting-room floor.
L.A. visual
effects shop Metrolight Studios digitally replaced the original
Heineken bottles in several "View From the Top" scenes
with bottles of Coors, with which Miramax has a long-term product
placement agreement.
"We have
a corporate alliance with them," Miramax product-placement
maven Lori Sale noted. "It's a seven-year relationship that
includes things like premiere parties as well as product placements."
Miramax secured
an unspecified annual cash consideration when it struck the corporate
agreement with the Denver brewery early last year. And the pact
grants Coors the right to nix Miramax's showing rival beer brands
in its movies.
So, in keeping
with the spirit of the agreement, Miramax decided to digitally alter
its "View," which had already begun shooting when the
pact was struck. http://reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=filmNews&storyID=2121263
[If you spot
beers in movies, send them in. We might even make a list. Two very
noticeable placements in SwordFish were Heineken and Dell.]

Michael Fey,

it run an automatic brewing program. http://www.m-fey.de/
