Don't wait for
the Point dates, catch this talent early. Dublin born Laura Isibor
has a strong and beautiful voice, the ability to write honest and
catchy melodies and overwhelming prowess playing piano.
That fella Tony
Dixon from FM 104 said this:
"For the last 20 years I have been
playing RnB & Soul on Irish radio. After interviewing such star's
as Mary J Blige, R. Kelly, Destiny's Child and Angie Stone, the
most exciting artist I have seen is Laura. I saw her for the first
time at the Sugar Club this week, all I can say is that she is truly
a STAR and her performance was amazing, I am shocked that she is
only 16. My highlight this year will be to have Laura on my show!"
See you there.

Beer
Can Widget Voted Best Invention of Last 40 Years
Forget the Internet,
cloning and CDs. A recent survey in England determined that the greatest
technological invention of the last 40 years is the widget, the plastic
device placed inside of a beer can to help it pour a foamy head. David
Warren of Wilkinson Sword commented: "We know Britain is a nation
of beer lovers but nothing prepared us for this finding," said
David Waren of Wilsinson Swoard, the razor blade maker that commissioned
the survey. "It just goes to show Britons let nothing get in
the way of a good pint." The widget grabbed 48% of nearly 9,000
votes cast at the technical innovation website T3.co.uk. Guinness
won a Queen's Award for Technological Achievement in 1991 after spending
five years and £5 million developing the device. Email and the
Internet placed a distant second with 13% of the vote. http://www.realbeer.com/news/articles/news-002071.php
Beer Drinkers
More Fun Than Wine Drinkers Shocker!!
Beer drinkers
are more extroverted than wine drinkers, according to a new study
in Canada. The scientists at the University of Manitoba's Alcohol
and Tobacco Research Unit in Winnipeg found relatively distinct
psychological traits when they surveyed hundreds of beer, wine and
liquor aficionados. The results were published in the Journal of
Studies on Alcohol. Beer drinkers tended to be more extroverted
and ego-driven, the wine drinkers less so, and spirits drinkers
fell somewhere in between the two. While it is clear that alcohol
in general can aid cardiovascular health, the apparent advantages
of one type of drink may have as much to do with the psyche of the
people who consume it as the properties of the beverage itself,
according to the report. http://www.realbeer.com/news/articles/news-002060.php
Made in China
- No.1 World Beer Producer in 2002
Japan's Kirin
Brewery Co. Kirin attributed the increase in China's beer output
to foreign beer brewers who have relocated production facilities
to China, where beer consumption has been steadily growing. The
United States fell to the second spot, while Germany remained third,
followed by Brazil and Russia. Kirin's began the survey in 1974,
and China first reached the top 20 in 1982.
Coming Soon
- Warnings on Beer Labels
Cains Brewery
in Liverpool becomes the first in the UK to put a health warning
label on its bottles with the release of its 2008 Celebration Ale.
The label reads: "Alcohol advice: Robert Cain supports responsible
drinking. Excessive drinking can cause harm. Observe the daily guidelines
for sensible drinking. Do not drink and drive." It has a picture
showing how many units of alcohol the bottle contains. In explaining
the decision to add a warning to the label Cains Brewery boss Sudarghara
Dusanj said, "There's mounting pressure to tackle the issue
of binge drinking in the UK. We think brewers have a responsibility
to promote sensible drinking to their customers."
