W H A T ' S  C O M I N G  U P ?  G E T  T H E  B E E R  I N !

Christmas day is less than five weeks from today. Most people should break from work on Friday December 20th. If you are planning an Office Keg Party for this date, or if you need equipment and kegs for the whole period, we advise you to contact us shortly. This year may see the introduction of minimum orders. Send in a 'keen party' request to info@brewcrew.ie

We mainly supply Beckett's Dublin Lager and Darcy's Stout which is brewed in Smithfield, Dublin. The Dublin Brewing Company also brew Maeve's, Wicked Apple organic cider, and Revolution ale.

All our most popular beers come in 30 ltr kegs (52 pints) and cost only 115 Euro (1.92 Euro per 500ml). This price includes all cooling and dispensing equipment.

Competition Time - Win a Keg of Beckett's Lager

Heading into the winter with more prizes, deals, and beer know-how. This promotion corresponds to the flyer promotion that you will see distributed at all good parties, bars, college's, and health spa's.

The last time we ran this competition we had some technical difficulties. Many of you may have been disappointed. So, we have left this comp open for another week.

There is a very simple question to answer to be included in the draw for a keg of Beckett's Dublin Lager. Enter Here... | Recent keg winners are listed here.

Carlow Brewing are launching a new promotion, called "Feel the Need for Speed". The idea is that you purchase any of their products in leading off-licences, and you can enter into a draw to win a trip around mondello in a single seater race car, and a spin around Dublin Bay in a twin turboed speed boat. Go to http://www.carlowbrewing.com for more details.

Always ask for Microbrew products at your local off-licence. The difference could be taste.

Brew Crew Sponsor Casino Royale Ball

The winner of the Casino Royale Ball keg of Beckett's lager was John Quinn.

The ball was undertaken to fundraise for the Irish Cancer Society. Brew Crew were delighted to be able to help. A special thanks for the night to committee members Catherine McCabe, Damien McAree, Aishling Gill, Joanne O'Duffy, Melissa Pierce, Duncan Brodrick, Julian Hecktar, and Eoghan Byrne. See you again next year...

Testimonials from satisfied Brewcrew users.

"Positive comments all around (even the morning after), the Beckett's went down the best of the three beers we ordered. I shall without doubt be using Brew Crew in the future, only the next time more beer will be ordered"

"My friends thanked me the day after but in reality they should have thanked Brew Crew, so Thank You from 60 odd people who enjoyed themselves immensely at my party." Andy Gould, Navan.

"This is the second time I have used Brewcrew for a private party and I am glad to say it just gets better. The beer is some of the nicest lager I have had, the stout is sublime! The service is friendly relaxed and very helpful. The kit is very easy to set up and use. Nice one Brewcrew! Keep up the good work." Neil Hopwood, Dun Laoghaire.

'YAHOOING BEER'

Authorities in Augusta, Ga., last month were faced with odd thefts of beer from convenience stories where the suspects run out the door screaming "Yahoo." The robberies were reported as far away as Texas, and it's become known as "Yahooing beer." "It is a big problem. Two of our stores got hit on the same night," said Denise Price, who manages an Amoco gas station in Augusta. A college student from Texas who was arrested for allegedly stealing beer described the process on his Web site. "You run into the store, grab a six-pack, and run out while yelling 'Yahooooooo!'" he wrote. "The whole process takes about 20 seconds. Before the store clerk has any time or thought to act, you're gone."

BEER COLLEGE

A degree course which explores the history of beer drinking in England has been defended by the government. The BA course in Local and Regional Studies at Bradford University offers a final year module for part-time students in drink and society. A spokeswoman for the university said the focus of the "Drink and society" module was historical.

"You will examine the place and significance of alcoholic drinks in society in the period 1750-1920, principally in England, but also including international comparisons," a course overview says.

"By the end of the module you will be able to explain the main developments in the history of drink in the period, and demonstrate an understanding of drink within its overall social context in the period." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/2401595.stm

POKER BEER

The makers of Jolt Cola this month roll out Poker Beer, which comes in bottles featuring poker hands. Every bottle carries a label with four different playing cards of a five-card poker hand. The final card is hidden under the bottlecap. About 1.7 million hands are available, thanks to variable printing. "We have a genuine desire to bring innovation into all segments of the beverage industry," said C.J. Rapp, president of New York-based Wet Planet. Wet Planet expects people to play games with the beer -- such as the loser buying the next round.

MOLSON LABELS TO INCLUDE CHAT-UP LINES

Molson USA has introduced beer bottles designed to be conversation starters. Bottles of Molson Canadian and Canadian Light carry labels on the back with messages such as "On The Rebound," "I See London, I See France," "I Just Want To Be Held," "Be Different. Say Yes," and of course, "Can I Get Your Number?" "In bars and nightclubs all across America, everyday, young men and women engage each other in social situations," said Steve Breen, vice president of marketing for Molson USA. "The thinking behind Twin Labels was to create a fun and clever tool to help men and women comfortably interact with one another."
